Lines sometimes meld when necessary (2018) is a piece for performers and first-person view (FPV) drone. These drones allow a pilot—tonight, the composer of the piece—to fly from the drone's perspective using special goggles. The audience will be viewing this video feed on the screen at the front of the space. These drones allow one to traverse volumes of space in entirely inhuman ways. The drone can, through its flight, "activate" specially augmented objects that contribute to the soundscape. This piece thus performs new kinds of human-machine possibilities.
